The USB Driver for Windows is available for download in this page. You need the driver only if you are developing on Windows and want to connect a Samsung android device to your development environment over USB.

Samsung Galaxy Core 2 leaks with quad-core CPU

The Samsung Galaxy Core 2 has leaked in dual-SIM form over in Russia and carries the product codeSM-G355H. We got two images that show the device with a physical home button along with a capacitive recent apps and back buttons.
According to the leak the Galaxy Core 2 Dual SIM has a 4.5" WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) display on the front, quad-core 1.2 GHz processor, a lowly 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage and a microSD card option.

The phone comes as heir to the Galaxy CoreGalaxy Core Plus and Galaxy Core Advance lineup. It measures 129.7 x 67.9 x 9.8 mm - around the same as the 4.3" Galaxy Core and Core Plus - and weighs in at 138 g. The camera is a 5 MP unit at the back and a front-facing 0.3 MP.
The battery is a 2,000 mAh unit and the device comes with Samsung's TouchWiz atop Android 4.4 KitKat. There's no LTE on board but there is HSPA+ so we should expect download speeds above 21 Mbps.
The Galaxy Core 2 Dual-SIM is expected to hit the shelves in Russia on May 20 with a price of RUR9,990 (around €200 and $277).

Nokia X family of devices official, run Android beneath custom user interface

After appearing in a multitude of leaks and rumors throughout the past couple of months, the Android-powered Nokia X is finally official.Nokia CEO Stephen Elop today introduced the Nokia X family, which includes the oft-leaked Nokia X, the Nokia X+ and the Nokia XL. All three devices are built on Android and feature a custom Nokia user experience that includes a Windows Phone-like user interface with resizable tiles and FastLane, which gives users a quick way to switch between apps. While the Nokia X family won't include Google apps or services, they will have a Nokia Store for apps as well as third-party markets. Users can also sideload apps onto the Nokia X hardware.Moving onto the hardware, the Nokia X is the entry-level member of this Android family. It sports a 4-inch 800x480 IPS display, 512MB of RAM and 3-megapixel rear camera. The Nokia X+ includes the same 4-inch display and 3-megapixel shooter, but the X+ bumps up its RAM to 768MB and comes with a 4GB microSD card. Finally, the Nokia XL is the biggest of the bunch thanks to its 5-inch 800x480 display. Also included with the Nokia XL is 768MB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera. All three phones are powered by 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8225 processors. So when can you get your hands on the long-rumored Nokia Android phone? How does right now sound? Nokia says that the Nokia X will be available immediately in the Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. The X will be available in green, black, white, yellow, cyan and red color options at a price of €89 ($122 USD). The Nokia X+ will be offered in the same color options starting in Q2 for €99 ($136 USD). The Nokia XL will hit in Q2 with green, black, white, yellow, cyan and bright orange duds at a price of €109 ($149 USD).Nokia also took the time to touch on its strategy now that it's added a new family of products to its lineup. The Finnish firm says that its Windows Phone-powered Lumia models will continue to be its primary smartphone focus, while the Nokia X family will serve growth markets and will generally be priced lower than the Lumia models. Nokia will also offer its Asha smartphones and feature phones.Speaking of Asha and feature phones, Nokia today also introduced one new member of each of those families. The Nokia Asha 230 features a 2.8-inch 320x240 touchscreen on its face, microSD card slot and a battery that's rated to last 33 days in standby. Nokia plans to offer both single-SIM and dual-SIM versions of the Asha 230. Available in bright red, yellow, bright green, white, black and cyan color options, the Asha 230 is available now at a price of €45 ($59 USD).Finally, we come to the Nokia 220. This feature phone is focused on connecting more people to the Internet using its Nokia Xpress browser with integrated Bing search. It also comes with Twitter and Facebook apps as well as an MP3 player and FM radio. The dual-SIM Nokia 220 is rated to last 24 days in standby, while the single-SIM stretches that to 29 days. Other Nokia 220 specs include a 2.4-inch screen, 2-megapixel camera and microSD card slot. The Nokia 220 is available now in red, black, white, yellow and cyan and, as you might expect, it's got an affordable price tag of €29 ($39 USD).

Samsung begins seeding Android 4.4 KitKat for Galaxy Note II

Here are some good news for the Galaxy Note II owners across the globe - Samsung has just started to rollout the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the international model.
The firmware update brings the latest Android KitKat 4.4.2 version, which will make your system even faster and snappier, it will also bring fullscreen album art and camera shortcut on the lockscreen, transparent status bar, wireless printing capabilities among others.
Naturally, Samsung's latest TouchWiz features are also on board - you get Samsung KNOX and Samsung Wallet plus some other minor goodies we've met across other devices. The update won't bring you the Galaxy S5 UI and icons though, in case you were hoping for them.
The first country to get the new update is France, but more markets should be following suit very soon. It is available over-the-air, so you should start keeping an eye on the Settings->About->Software Update menu.

Samsung Galaxy S5 mini IP67 certification confirmed

We already know that Samsung is going to release the mini version of its Galaxy S5 flagship, just like it did for the Galaxy S4 last year. The upcoming Galaxy S5 mini has already been leaked via a case maker, and today Samsung has confirmed one of the features of the device.
Samsung New Zealand on its website has affirmed that the Galaxy S5 mini will come out with IP67 certification. The company has posted the warranty information of the upcoming device, which states that the warranty is excluded if the Galaxy S5 mini is submerged in water for more than 30 minutes.
Both Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4 Active boast IP67 certification and have the same warranty exclusions. This means that the upcoming Galaxy S5 mini smartphone will also carry the same feature.
The other rumored specs of the device include a 4.5-inch screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, quad-core processor along with 1.5 GB of RAM on a Snapdragon 400 chipset, 8 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front facing shooter, 16 GB of internal memory and Android 4.4 KitKat.
There is no word on the pricing and the availability details of the smartphone, we will know more about that when the device goes official.
